Choose Your Pitches is a 2-channel improvisatory game for live oboist and MAX/MSP. The skeleton of the piece is pre-programmed through written messages to the performer -- which appear at timed intervals and in response to what the performer is playing -- instructing them as to the range, dynamics, style, and collection of pitches with which to perform. The various scales and pitch-collections are generated live based on the three pitches played at the beginning of the piece. All of the computer audio is as well generated live through sampling the performer. Special thanks to the authors of MAX/MSP objects fiddle~, freeverb~, jg.granulator~, and LtoTab.
